Real Talk, Why Have Preachers, Teachers, Pastors All Gone MUTE In SUPPORT Of Kim Burrell????

Reader the above flyer and the below comment is from Tasha Cobbs social media Instagram page. Some are asking what if Kim Burrell was a member of the Contemporary Christian Music community would we be having the same results? I really don't think so! I have nothing but disgust for Franklin Graham. But money bet you if this was a CCM artist, Franklin Graham would be somewhere right now rallying for their rights to speak truth.

Father we're praying for Your Daughter, and our sister, Pastor Kim Burrell. We plead The Blood, over her life, over her ministry, and over her career. And Father we ask that You would use this season of offense, to expose the strategy of the enemy to keep us divided and that You would cause what the devil meant for evil, to work for our good.

We pray for all who were offended, and for all who felt indifferent, because of what they heard, and we pray that You would bring clarity and Truth and that our hearts and minds would be open for discussion, even if it doesn't lead to complete agreement. Father use this moment, to draw us closer to You, and closer to one another, and don't allow what we heard, and how it made us feel, to harden our hearts towards one another.

Give us the courage, and the patience to listen to those who believe differently than we do, and cause us to be compassionate, and loving towards anyone, and everyone who doesn't believe what we believe. Show us Holy Spirit, that we can believe differently, and not be indifferent. Show us Father, that we can disagree, and still love one another, and live together in peace.

You so loved the whole world, that You gave us Jesus...and I'm praying that you grant us the grace to do the same for one another. In Your Loving Son Jesus' Name I pray...AMEN!

  1. You know this lack of support is actually quite disgusting. White folks NEVER let people from their community out to dry. Even Dylan Roof (Charleston shorter) had had a pleathora of people speaking up for him. Will someone from the Ackerman community please stand up!

  2. This kinda REJECTION IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN WHEN ONE SPEAKS THE TRUTH AGAINST SIN. All this praying public prayer and pleading the blood and covering and calling KIM as being under attack is INSANE! LEST we forget, CHRIST was crucified, Paul was beheaded, Peter was crucified, and many Christians today are martyred because they stand for the truth. All this publicity is giving more and more attention to this wicked gay agenda. We as GOD'S people should learn from this to contend for the faith even more, learning how more to give an answer for the hope that lies within us.

Praying for the offended? FOR WHAT? TO show sympathy?

  3. You are so right about the CCM community. They always support their own. But there is also more uniformiity in thought about the Bible and ewhat it says about sin, including homosexuality. However, in what is known as the traditional back church, there is so much double mindedness because they don't want to offend their gay organist, pianist, drummer or singer. And the reason many gospel artist haven't spoken up is because at least a thiord or more are homosexuals, including major artists and they are afraid if they defend Kim publicly, their life of sexual sin will be exposed.

We're living in the generation of jellyback preachers.
And you're right, why are they praying for the offended??? When did Jesus pray for those whom he offended??? Where is the standard?

    1. Amen PASSION...

To publicize praying for Kim first 7 days IS A JOKE!...

KIM may not be a member of CCM, but she identifies with the likes of the other FRANKLIN (Kirk), backstabbing YOLANDA, CEE CEE, MARY MARY, HEZ WALKER and "black gospel" MUSIC. Black gospel music has lots of issues as evident here by GOOD OLD TASHA, Suggesting this foolishness. Their music is simply a display of the lack of spiritual depth of many of their artists...SHALLOW, IMMATURE, TRITE, WEAK, NON COURAGEOUS, BLIND, STAGNATE, AND most of all....U FRUITFUL!!!

      COME ON WIT IT!!

    2. Ms.Ann, I don't know how I feel about this. Black churches have been preaching this same thing for decades. but i guess since Kim's famous and on video all of a sudden it's wrong and everyone wants to turn their back on her. you either follow your religion, or pick and choose what you want to follow and ignore your religious beliefs. i slowed down on going to church big time due to the hypocrisy and nonsense i saw while attending and working in one. I've went to baptist churches, AME's, non denomination, and more. behind the scenes it is ALWAYS some b.s. going on. why is Jake, Morton,Blake,Dollar and any other megachurch pastor no one stepping up to "calm things down" and "speak to what she have said? yes people will need to hear the proper translations and teachings of the bible, and no it won't always go in the way that they want to (to benefit their wants, desires, etc) but thats not what religion is for. its not about caving into/catering into your wants, beliefs, etc. all religions have their own individual teachings, and i find it odd that (although the video isn't showing the best delivery, etc) the message is still there. seems like everyone is caving into the LGBT community and their demands and not standing for what they believe in. everything cannot be PC.

where she messed up was her accepting working with and making money with the LBGT community and not just standing by what she believes in. HOWEVER, to be fair, i don't think she's anti lgbt, i think she gave a sermon that had a different intent/meaning/delivery, and what we are seeing are twisted interpretations of it. in the end, its being blown out of proportion more than it needs to be. this woman has decades worth of gospel work/teachings under her. how the hell can you pull an honor ceremony from her or anyone for 1 damn thing that technically the religion preaches against?

    3. @Betty Sue, the reason for the backlash is because the LGB people have been a part of the Black church for Decades. They were the Bishops, musicians, pastors and Still are! I researched a lot of famous dead pastors like Rev. B. W. Smith (he preached the "Watch them Dogs" sermon). I was shocked that a lot of them were gay.

In the White community, you know who is AGAINST the gay lifestyle (like the Westboro church) and you know the churches who are lukewarm about it (Joel Osteen). But in the BLACK church, there are so many "down low" pastors and deacons that Kim Burrell's sermon really stomped on a lot of toes!

  7. Yep, bring it on Anonymous (GET OUTTA HERE)...Thank you. What again is so sad is that I HAVEN'T heard one word about CORRUPT AND UNGODLY Obama, Clinton, or some of these other Crooked Democrats (so-Called)..Just how racist those Republicans (So-Called) are. Franklin Graham...REALLY? Because it's all about a Black Thang! WHATEVER!! And yes, I know what Blog this is...The Old Black Church. Well, I'm thankful I am part of God's Church....That's my conviction. We "ALL" should take a stand against "ALL" ungodliness because it comes in all color's. Oh yes it does. This woman being part of the celebrity Christian status will continue to be straddling the fence, even though I DEFINITELY agree with her on this issue. BTW, as Anonymous (GET OUTTA HERE) said, "come on wit' it"...IJS. in Christ Alone, RLR.

  8. It's truly disgusting and embarrassing and downright UNHOLY. These so-called BLACK LEADERS OF THE GOSPEL. Have just stood by and said nothing at all. They aren't going to say anything. They don't want to offend there Homosexual and Lesbian and LGBTQ FINANCIAL SUPPORTERS. There Musicians, There Elders,There Missionaries, There State Mother's, There Auxiliary Bishop's, There Choir Directors, There Minister's of Music,There Assistant Pastor, There Head Usher,There Mother's Board, There Kitchen Help. Why put all those folks cause all those folk are either LGBTQ or have family members. They give BIG FINANCIAL SUPPORT to the ministry. So they are not going to open there mouths. They care more about money than about SOULS. Money is the control of the CHURCH. GOD is not in the mind set of these preacher's. Only cars, mansion's, books, movie deals, how big the church is,planes, suits, maids and butler's, and cooks. They have forgot the SOULS. God is going to hold them accountable for what they have and haven't done . Some are called, Some are chosen, Some called themselves. Chris Featherstone has been the only Caucasian male person that has written an article in defense of Pastor Burrell. Don't look for Franklin Graham to come to no BLACK person defense. He's a RACIST. God doesn't see black or white unfortunately these White So Called Christians do. The BIBLE is RIGHT. Everything in the BIBLE is coming to fruition. Its Not About Being Popular, Its About Being Effective. The Truth May Hurt ForbA While. But A Lie Hurts Forever. The problem with these pastors they have gotten to . BIG for there underwear. They have chosen preaching as a career .That's the wrong. Salvation is a Lifestyle not a Career. If they wanted a Career. They should have gotten a JOB. That's JOB. Not Job. That includes the Men and Women. We are praying for pastor Burrell. But I believe that GOD said go to your secret closet. God is in control. It's Holiness or Hell.

  9. Miss Ann,

As believers in Christ, we should cease to trust in man (Jeremiah 17:5). Jesus and Paul the apostle were let down by people who were close to them.

Miss Burrell should brace herself for a very lone road ahead. Elijah (1 Kings 19:10) and all the other prophets of the most high God went through the same thing. She must be strong in the LORD and in the power of his might (Ephesians 6:10-12). For if God is for her, who can be against her? (Romans 8:31) The ball rests entirely in her court in whether she will not waver against the heat that is being turned up on her from the world and the blistering cold silence from the "men and women of God" who have supported her ministry.

Like I have said before, I am on God's side in all this. For it is his law and WORD that guides us (Psalm 19). Unfortunately, there are no accolades from the world for standing on the WORD of God.

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  10. I don't see this so called prayer as support for Kim Burrell. It seems more like a prayer to pacify the opposition. I agree with others who have posted that these so called big names in the black church bishops, pastors, prophets, psalmist, musicians ought to speak up. Bishop Patrick Wooden of NC Cogic has 3 part video on YouTube in support of Kim so some are speaking up for her but we need more. Lastly this statement might not go over well but Kim had no business collaborating with worldly artist or appearing on a lesbian's talk show anyway.I hope she sees now that the world is not her friend.
